Formalizing process of the University-Business Collaboration Agreement

Once the student has been selected, the company must send an email to careerservices@salleurl.edu, indicating its interest in formalizing the internship agreement, so that the pertinent procedures can be initiated.


Requirements and Conditions of the University-Company Collaboration Agreement:

  1. The student must be enrolled in the La Salle Campus BCN and the tuition paid.
  2. If the student is studying for a Bachelor's Degree, it is essential that he/she has passed 50% of the credits.
  3. If the student does not have the Spanish Nationality, it’s essential to have the NIE in effect.
    * IMPORTANT If the NIE is expired, or almost expired, it’s also essential to attach the renewal request duly sealed. In order to obtain more information about the necessary information, transits and deadlines, you can check the Immigration Web Site or International Students la Salle
  4. Students of Graduate and Master's degrees cannot exceed the limit of hours per academic year: 960 hours. In the case of Postgraduate and Expert University Course students it will be 450 hours.
    * The academic year includes the training teaching period that the student is studying and it begins the day the classes begin and ends with the closing of the acts.The agreements that are signed will not have a duration exceeding 9 months in a row.
  5. If within his/her tasks, the student has to go to visit a work or go to the client's home with his tutor, the company must notify the University so that they can make the necessary internal procedures so that the school insurance also covers the student in these situations.
    * School insurance covers accidents in the going or returning to school / practices, but not as vehicles drivers, which in this case is the mandatory insurance of the car involved in the accident.
    * It is imperative that the student who goes to do an internship program signs a letter saying he is not authorized to drive a private vehicle, and if he does, it is under his total responsibility. This document will be attached to the documentation at the time of formalizing the agreement.
  6. The student cannot exceed the limit of 20 hours per week.
    * Exceptionally, there may be specific cases that may take more than 20 hours per week, as long as the student can combine the practices in the company with his studies. In the summer, they will be allowed to do 8h/day..
  7. If the student causes a drop before the date of completion agreed by the parts, the company must notify the University, indicating the number of hours of practices performed and the date the student has caused the drop, so that the student knows it and can make the necessary arrangements.
  8. Students must have a tutor in the company to supervise his/her internship. The functions carried out must be related to the studies that the student is studying at La Salle Campus BCN.
  9. Once the Internship program has finished, the tutor will complete a questionnaire given by the University and an evaluation about the student and the practices performed, and finally grading a global mark. This questionnaire will be sent to La Salle Work Bureau so that it can be included in the evaluation of the student, if the teachers ask for it.
  10. The student will also complete a questionnaire about the Internship Program performed in the company, which will have to be sent to La Salle Work Bureau.
  11. The student will be allowed to have only one educational cooperation agreement in effect.
    * In the case of unemployment being collected, the student must take into account that the practices agreement that imply the discharge in any of the regimes of the Social Security, they are not compatible with the unemployment benefits, except in the case of part-time agreements, which will be compatible, but reducing the proportional part to the time worked of the benefit amount. For more information, the student will have to go to the office of the Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya (SOC)..
  12. The student will be allowed to stay in the same company a maximum of 2 years.
  13. The company will directly pay the student for study aid a minimum of 6€/h. On this amount, the legal withholding tax will be applied. For guidance, the retention will be a 2% if the residence country of the interested party is Spain. If you do not provide a tax residence certificate, the legal withholding tax will be applied in agreement with the established Conventions in each country. The student must to have inform in the “Oficinas de la Agencia Tributaria”.
    * These 6€/h are deducible by the company as an expense.
  14. It will be of application the disposed in the Royal Decree 28/2018 of the 28th of December in relation with the Programs of Educative Cooperation (BOE 29th of December 18, 5th additional disposition) where it is regulated the inclusion in the Régimen General de la Seguridad Social of people in training programs and everything subject to particular conditions.
  15. The company contributes on the understanding of a collaboration to the La Salle Campus BCN Fund of 2,15 €/h, that may be paid by direct debit or bank transfer.
    * La Salle Campus BCN Fund serves to help students that due to their particular family economic level, they cannot pay the amount of the school fee.
    * These collaboration has fiscal deductions made to the business corporate Taxes quota.
  16. The University will send to the company the documentation signed by them, along with the invoice of the collaboration to the La Salle Campus BCN Fund.
    * The collaborations collection to the “La Salle Campus BCN Fund” corresponding to the total period of the agreement, will be made during the first month, respecting the payment conditions of the company.

Important note:

✓ The Student CANNOT start his internship program in the company until the University does not have all the documentation signed by the parts.
✓ Failure to comply with any of the above shall imply that the University may automatically rescind the agreement.
